Leadership Is More Than Time in Uniform 07/09/2026

Leadership isn't measured by time in the uniform.

One of the greatest opportunities in our profession is OPE – Other People's Experience. Every challenge someone else has faced, every difficult decision they've made, and every lesson they've learned has the potential to make us better leaders—if we're willing to learn from it.

That's why I'm pleased to announce our upcoming live online Security Leadership webinar.

Over two hours, we'll explore what truly separates managers from leaders, discuss practical leadership principles for today's security profession, and examine how trust, communication, accountability, and decision-making shape high-performing teams.

Because the webinar is live and online, security professionals from anywhere in Canada can participate without the time and expense of travel.

This webinar also represents the Leadership Domain of the Security Responder professional development program. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive an official Security Responder Certificate of Completion, recognizing their achievement in one of the program's five core domains.

Whether you're an aspiring Team Lead, an experienced Supervisor, an Operations Manager, or a company owner, this session is designed to provide practical leadership strategies you can put to work immediately.

Leadership isn't a position. It's a responsibility. And it begins long before someone gives you the title.

Leadership Is More Than Time in Uniform Leadership is earned—not by seniority, but through influence, accountability, and continuous growth.

How Many Chances Are Too Many? 07/02/2026

Researchers consistently note that Canada does not publish comprehensive national probation compliance statistics. Studies often measure recidivism, reconvictions, returns to custody, technical breaches, administration-of-justice offences or parole outcomes.

But those measures do not answer the simpler public safety question:

How often are probation orders successfully completed, and how often are they breached?

That gap matters.

If probation and community-based supervision are intended to protect the public while supporting rehabilitation, Canadians should know how often those orders work, how often they fail, and what patterns may predict repeated non-compliance.

How Many Chances Are Too Many? SAULT STE. MARIE, Ontario — A recent Ontario court case involving a series of disturbing offences committed over less than two months is…

The smartest person in the room is the room.

That's the idea behind our monthly Security & Emergency Management: Lessons Learned Exchange & Chat.

This isn't a presentation.

It's a conversation.

A chance for security professionals, emergency managers, property managers, event organizers, business leaders, and public safety stakeholders to share experiences, discuss challenges, and learn from one another.

You don't need to be an expert.

You don't need all the answers.

Maybe you have a question.

Maybe you have a lesson learned that could help someone else.

Either way, there's a seat at the table.

We'll focus on practical experiences, ideas, and solutions—not confidential client information or company-sensitive details.

Because when professionals come together to learn from one another, everyone benefits.

Together Everyone Accomplishes More.

Because in our profession, the gap between incident and ambulance arrival can mean everything

Violence can unfold in seconds—and security professionals are often already on scene before EMS arrives.

As UK Knife Crime Awareness Week reminds us, preparedness matters. Enhanced emergency response training helps security teams recognize threats early, control life-threatening bleeding, support casualties, and act decisively in those critical first minutes.

Clear communication doesn’t just sound professional—it saves lives. A structured casualty handover helps incoming EMS understand what happened, what you found, and what you’ve already done before the stretcher even moves.

Let’s raise the bar—
without tearing down the people trying to reach it.
