Today is World Pet Memorial Day, a day to honour and celebrate the life of our beloved fur babies. No matter how much time passes, we never forget the pawprints they leave on our heart.🐾

Make a gift today in memory of your cherished companion and help change the future for animals who may not yet felt love and the warm embrace of a family, or the comfort of a full belly. Your companion’s memory can live on as a gift of hope for others. ❤️

Your pets legacy will help other animals experiencing issues like homelessness, hunger, violence, and support initiatives like the National Pet Food Bank, emergency response planning for animals, advocacy to policymakers, support for shelters across Canada and more. Breaking News: Humane Canada has released Canada’s first known study examining the link between animal abuse and the online radicalization of youth.

Violence online is escalating, and in many digital spaces, it is becoming normalized. Our report, Beyond Promising Practices, reveals how harmful ideologies rooted in misogyny and hopelessness can take hold, particularly among youth. Alarmingly, animal abuse is often shared in these environments, serving as an early warning sign of broader patterns of violence.

This groundbreaking research, funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada, highlights critical opportunities for early intervention, child protection, public safety, and animal welfare.

Humane Canada's Violence Link work continues to demonstrate that harm to animals is often connected to broader patterns of abuse. Recognizing these warning signs can help protect both animals and people.
