Goodbye and Thank you (continued);

I am rarely lost for words, however the outpouring of good wishes has left me overwhelmed, humbled and (almost) speechless.

It is very satisfying to know that so many of you liked what we did at Nectar. I appreciate all of you and I am very grateful that we crossed paths. I apologize to those of you whom I didn't get to see before we closed. Apparently, I am now going to have time to have lunch, or shop occasionally, so we will likely bump into each other from time to time in this great neighbourhood.

Thank you sincerely for your kind words. The last couple of weeks have been somewhat of a blur, but I promise I will reply privately to individual messages soon. I am in the process of setting up a network to supply tea, so please contact me at [email protected] if you would like to place an order.

I am calling this next phase my second semi-retirement, the shop being the first. Now that I have had a long nap and a couple of weekends off, I am almost ready for the next reinvention. Watch this space. I will be in touch one way or another.

Yes, the rumours are true, I am finally retiring!
After 14 fabulous years, Nectar Fine Teas will be closing on February 28th, 2018. Since this is likely the closest I will ever get to the Oscars, I have to take this opportunity to thank all the important people who made it happen. I guess I can't get
dragged off the stage or have the lights dimmed or music played louder, but you can always use the Delete button if I get too boring.

Huge thanks have to go to: My husband, who built such a beautiful environment for me to work in every day. My sons, (my cheering section), who 'allowed' me to abandon them to follow my dream, even though they were only in their 20's! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and encouragement. My amazing staff over the years, merci beaucoup mon amie de tres longtemps Danielle, Emi & Yukiko (arigato), Nicole, Zaya, Indra, Ganaa (bayarlalaa), and all others before you. You have all contributed so much, I appreciate each
one of you for your special talents and peeks into your unique cultures. You have openly shared your history, language, cooking and so much more. I really feel as if I have travelled
around the world, (For Free)! Thank you for making Nectar a place where people wanted to come, again and again. My loyal customers old and new. Some have been with me
since the beginning when I was the smallest tea shop around. I have watched your children grow from babies to teenagers and shared some of your happiest and saddest moments. I have also been privileged to host four generations to Afternoon Tea. Some of you came for lunch every single week, even though you had gone through our small menu many times. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have lasted so long. Thank you very much for letting me share a tiny bit of your lives.

I am quite sure I have been 'deleted' by now, but I haven't quite finished yet so I'll 'carry on' regardless in true British style. If I haven't had a chance to thank you personally, please know that I am extremely grateful for your patronage over the years.

Please drop by to say hi or bye, or just to have a chat and a cuppa. It would be great if you wanted to sign my guest book. You can also get in touch through social media (or even that almost obsolete invention), the telephone, if you would like me to order tea for you.

To borrow a phrase from the dark side of the beverage industry, it has truly been 'good to the last drop'.

Hello on this beautiful crisp November day!

For the month of December we will be open on Mondays, as well as extending some of our hours:
Monday-Wednesday: 10am-6pm
Thursday & Friday: 10am-7pm
Saturday: 9am-6pm
Sunday: 11am-5pm

In case you haven't heard, got some fabulous iced teas! Turkish Apple, a fruit infusion, Cranberry Oolong made with Formosa oolong, hand squeezed cranberry juice and a touch of maple, and our very popular Jasmine Lime Cooler made with sweetened lime juice and jasmine green tea! And these are just a few of the ones we are offering throughout the summer. They change all the time so come in to check out what we have!

Just an early reminder if you are hoping for an Afternoon Tea reservation this Mother's Day, May 10th. Don't be disappointed as the weekend fills up fast. We have 3 sittings for both Saturday & Sunday at noon, 2pm & 4pm. And if you are not able to make it that weekend, we have gift certificates available for a lovely gift!
