🎶 Lately, I’ve been drawn to Frank Sinatra’s “My Way”, a song that echoes something deeply personal for me, resonating in both my career as a financial advisor and my life beyond work. At 47, with 25 years in the financial industry, I’ve dedicated myself to carving out a path that feels honest and true, shaping my approach to both clients and life itself.
In my career, I’ve learned that financial advising is far more than managing assets. It’s about understanding people, their dreams, their fears, their goals and building plans that honor each individual journey. “Doing it my way” has meant putting in the time to get to know my clients, treating each one as a unique story, and working tirelessly to help them achieve true peace of mind. I’ve stayed dedicated through the market’s ups and downs because the work is about so much more than numbers; it’s about building trust that can stand the test of time.
On a personal level, this song reminds me of the value in making choices that honor my core values, even when the road is uncertain. Like Sinatra’s classic, my journey hasn’t always followed the conventional script, and there have been moments where taking the path less traveled felt daunting. But life isn’t about perfection, it’s about growth. Every choice, every challenge, every lesson along the way has shaped who I am today.
If “doing it my way” has taught me anything, it’s that embracing the unexpected and staying true to what matters most are keys to a meaningful life. Here’s to being fully present for my clients and my journey alike, to walking this path with integrity, purpose, and an open heart.

Understanding the VIX: What It Tells Us About Market Sentiment
If you're wondering what the VIX is, you're not alone! The VIX, also known as the "Volatility Index" or "Fear Index," is a key indicator that measures the expected volatility of the stock market over the next 30 days. Essentially, it reflects how much uncertainty or risk investors feel about the market.
When the VIX is low (like 10.62, its 52-week low), it means investors are feeling calm and confident. Historically, a low VIX indicates stable market conditions with less fear of big price swings. On the other hand, when the VIX is high (like 65.73, its 52-week high), it shows that investors are nervous and bracing for significant market fluctuations, often tied to major economic events or crises.
For context, the VIX closed at 15.37 yesterday. This level suggests a fairly stable sentiment right now—investors aren't overly fearful but aren’t extremely optimistic either. It’s like driving on a slightly bumpy road rather than a rocky or smooth one.
To see why this matters, look at the VIX’s history since 2005. During periods of financial crises or geopolitical events (like 2008 or early 2020), the VIX spiked dramatically. By understanding this trend, investors can better gauge the emotional temperature of the market and make informed decisions.
In a nutshell, keeping an eye on the VIX can provide insights into whether investors are more likely to panic or stay calm, which often signals how the broader market may behave. Stay informed, and don’t let fear drive your investment decisions!
