Visiting Isabelle in Sturgeon Falls, where she’s doing her Physio placement—seemed like a great day to travel 1hr NW to the birthplace of Heather McDonald - Sudbury! The Big Nickle is smaller than I remember and we did a tour to Inco Superstack and Copper Cliff; a step back in time (leading edge mining tech from the 70s). Went to find our house on Eyre St., but alas, it has been torn down. Downtown market was not good; so we headed to the outskirts; Chelmsford cheese factory; a lavender farm in growth mode; les chances de parler en français and then back to the Big Sturgeon. Shad flies, small town hospitality, rugged Canadian Shield. Time marches forward… plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.
