Sometimes when writing, I don’t feel it fully.

Not until I read it back to myself.

And then I cry.

Because I relived it in a single moment so deeply.

One that took me months to unearth into words.

One of the reasons my partner fell in love with me was because I could hold space for feelings he never felt permission to share.

If you’re a man, you’ve likely struggled with expressing your emotions, too. Somewhere along the way, many were taught it wasn’t safe to feel out loud. And that often starts young — through friends, family, and society.
