One word can follow you for decades.

Mine was "can't." I heard it early. I don't know exactly where it started, but I felt it about everything — what I could do, who I'd become. It sounded like a fact.

Here's the part nobody tells you: the voice that says it eventually goes quiet. The word doesn't. You pick it up and keep casting it on yourself, long after anyone else stopped.

Kind words buff. Cruel words curse. And the ones you repeat to yourself are the strongest spells of all.

I spent years proving that word wrong. Every rep, every skill, every hard thing I did anyway — a counter-spell.

You don't break a curse by ignoring it. You break it by naming it.

So name it. What word are you still casting on yourself?

Comment the word.

I absolutely love the opportunity to reach people, to connect and to share everything I've learned in my life - but, it requires me to not be as engaged in my life as I can be.

I want to be able to put out my thoughts, my ideas and my experience for you to hear it, but I understand that you need more.

I used to need to be seen just to feel like I was enough - like my existence required observation of another to validate it. A lot has changed since then.

I'm reminded of a verse in the new testament, but its depiction in "The Chosen" is what really strikes me.
John 1:48 ESV:
"...Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

We're made to live and experience life. Not to be seen by others - for we're already seen by the one who loves us beyond measure and we don't need to post or photograph to be validated or worthy to Him

I spent a lot of my life living in regret. The mistakes I made, the things I had avoided...

Eventually, I realized what an absolute waste of time it was. So, I stopped whining about how I wish things had been different and I made changes instead

Regret is a waste of time and energy it it doesn't go anywhere.
Repentance orients you towards change so that you don't repeat the same kinds of mistakes.

If you're regretting anything from your past, learn the lesson it is meant to teach you and do better.
