Cellists. You might be wondering Why did I invite Sonya Matoussova to teach a cello workshop this Saturday?
I don’t bring guest teachers into CelloYoga™ often.
But when I do, it’s because I’ve seen something real in their work.
Sonya Matoussova is one of those teachers.
She has a rare ability to help cellists release tension and find a more expressive, natural relationship with their bow.
I’ve heard the results—in her playing and her students—and I was genuinely blown away.
That’s why I invited her to lead:
Brahms & The Bow
An online event this SATURDAY
📅 June 13th at 2:00 PM
This is not a passive masterclass. It’s interactive, supportive, and focused on real change in how you play romantic music
Join us and play some of the world's most beautiful music written for cello!
Looking forward to making music with you, Link in the comments

Here's a problem most cellists have...
If you’re like many adult cellists, you may feel that your bowing is mostly fine but sometimes the cello just doesn't sing the way you want it to, especially in those long, sustained classical passages
Maybe:
• your sound feels inconsistent
• tension shows up when you try to “play beautifully”
• or romantic and melodic music feels harder than it should to pull off
The truth is,bowing is the engine of your musical voice and it's one aspect of cello playing that most cellists neglect
That’s exactly what we’ll be exploring in:
Brahms & The Bow (THIS COMING Saturday -June 13)
Our guest artist, Sonya Matoussoave will help you unlock more freedom, resonance, and expression in your sound using some of the most beautiful cello music in the world- Brahms E minor Sonata, written for 4 part cello.
Curious about what else you'll experience if you join us?
