As a Behaviour Analyst an area in our society that I think needs more research is the effects of social media on children. Netflix has just released The Social Dilemma which shows how pervasive social media is. The most concerning is the lasting behaviour changes that occur due to this influence.

Another movie on Netflix that examines the vulnerability of preteens is Cuties. This movie is about a young girl from a conservative family who's influenced by her peers and social media is a damaging way. This movie was highly criticized for its depictions of the girls acting in sexually inappropriate ways. However, I believe the minds behind this movie wanted to make some points about how young girls are susceptible to these social pressures.
