Was happy to get downtown on New Year's Day to take in the yearly lights around Parliament Hill in Ottawa and get a few pics of the amazing heritage architecture. If you're not from here (and even if you are!), it's definitely worth the trip. Could have used some long johns, though!

Home for Christmas. This is the scene that welcomed my family and me, and many friends, every year for the twenty years my parents lived out in the Ottawa Valley. I took this photo during our last Christmas there in 2019 and gave it to them last Christmas as they settled into the new home they share with us. For me, it represents the warm, glowing welcome that I hope meets anyone coming home for Christmas.

Found (by pure accident) an old photo from Folly Beach, South Carolina, right at the tail end of Winter Storm Pax (2014). Now, it's one of my all time favourites! We were down there on vacation during the storm and state of emergency (three days of wind and ice) and this was the first time we could see the blue sky. It was lovely (but cold!). Anyway...a bit of ocean beauty for you.

Had a lovely visit with family in Winnipeg (finally - yay!) and came back with a few city scenes (Winnipeg and then one from Ottawa when we celebrated our anniversary) and scenes from beautiful Lake Winnipeg (Gimli and Victoria Beach). Enjoy!

I was finally able to get out and take in the beautiful Tulip Festival, an annual celebration here in Ottawa. Only made it out for a couple of hours, but managed to get a few memories (lol, after almost being soaked by the sprinklers that suddenly came on at 6am!). Happy almost summer, everyone! I hope you're all safe and well.
