Lest We Forget 🇨🇦
This is my Great Grandfather, Henry Gerow.
I still remember the stories my Great Grandmother used to tell — how she would walk down to the train station every night in her long nightgown, hoping he’d be on one of those trains coming home. She said the walk to the station was much quicker than waiting for the mail.
Her story has a happy ending — one day, he did step off that train. Together, they raised seven children, including my Grandfather Laurence.
So thankful for this country, their sacrifices, and our freedom.
