Aphasia can make conversation more difficult for everyone involved.
These strategies can help.
People with aphasia deserve to be included in the conversation.
Save this and pass it along.

Meet David, stroke survivor and aphasia community member.
People with aphasia have something to say.
David says it simply: "Brain good, speech not." He was 20 years old when a car accident left him with a stroke and aphasia. He has been working on his speech for seven years. He is still going.
He walks to show other young people that life goes on after a stroke. He walks so people will speak to him directly, with patience, knowing he will get there.
Our conversation and support groups give people a safe place to communicate and connect. A place to feel heard. A place to belong.
Today, walk with us.
