Oakville Mayor Rob Burton has amended the Emergency Physical Distancing By-law to include dogs and their owners. While on public property, dogs must be on a leash 2 metres in length or less—no off leash romps or extendable leashes—and be 2 metres away from another person or dog, unless they reside together. Any one breaking this regulation can be fined $750-$100,000 for each offence or get off easy with a $300 penalty.
