As global demand for critical minerals, steel, and agricultural products continues to grow, Neptune plays an important role in connecting Canadian resources to the world.

Two of Canada's most important resources - steelmaking coal from B.C.'s Elk Valley and potash from Saskatchewan - travel by rail to North Vancouver before being loaded onto vessels bound for markets across Asia, South America, Europe, and beyond.

We are proud to share some exciting news!

Neptune has achieved a perfect score across all seven applicable performance indicators in the 2025 Green Marine certification.

We received Level 5 results in Air Emissions and Greenhouse Gases, Community Impacts, Community Relations, Dry Bulk Handling and Storage, Environmental Leadership, Spill Prevention and Stormwater Management, and Waste Management.

According to Green Marine's 2025 Performance Report, Neptune was one of only three terminals to receive Level 5 across all applicable indicators.

Green Marine is a voluntary environmental certification program for the North American maritime industry, evaluating participants on a scale of 1 to 5, and Neptune has been a certified member since 2012.

This recognition reflects the work our team does every day across our North Vancouver terminal - from how we manage our operations to how we continue improving environmental performance in the community where we work.

Thank you to Green Marine for this recognition, and to everyone at Neptune whose work supports continual improvement across our operations.

Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day — a time during National Indigenous History Month to honour the heritage, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.

Neptune's office is located on the unceded ancestral lands of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and Musqueam Nations. For us, operating on these territories is an ongoing commitment to listen, reflect, and learn about the histories, cultures, and traditions of the Coast Salish peoples.

In 2024, we had the privilege of welcoming award-winning Squamish Nation artist Xwalacktun to create a mural at our Forester Street location. Featuring a wolf, thunderbird, and cedar branches, this piece not only tells a story through the symbols woven into the artwork, but it also deepens our connection to the traditional teachings and heritage rooted in this region.

Last year, Xwalacktun returned on Truth and Reconciliation Day to share stories with our team and lead a blessing of the mural with the Snowbird Song — a moment that reminded us of the importance of learning, and walking the path of reconciliation together.

We are grateful for Xwalacktun's guidance, his generosity, and the ongoing relationship that continues to teach us.
