Welcome to Port Colborne, where the sunsets are soft and the airspace is, mercifully, not restricted! ⁠
⁠
Did you know that large parts of Niagara — including areas in Niagara Falls, NOTL, St. Catharines, Thorold, and Welland — are actually controlled airspace? ⁠
⁠
That means not every drone pilot can legally fly there. It depends on their certification, their equipment, and in some cases, complex pre-approved flight authorizations.⁠
⁠
Even in uncontrolled airspace, most drones still require at least a Basic Operations license to get off the ground.⁠
⁠
We’re certified by Transport Canada and fly with approved gear that lets us safely and legally operate almost anywhere in Niagara, including most controlled airspace (with the very notable exception of the 2 KM bubble around the Falls, which requires approvals, permits, stacks of paperwork, fees, patience… and possibly a sacrificial offering).⁠

This one, captured at Sugarloaf Marina and Clarence Street Bridge for Niagara South Coast Tourism, was one of the easy ones. ⁠

But when it’s not, we’re ready for that too!

As part of our ongoing work with Niagara South Coast Tourism, we spent the day in this friendly little corner of Pelham capturing visuals to help showcase what makes the area so special — through the lens of its local businesses.⁠

The goal? To create warm, authentic, tourism-ready imagery that highlights the character of the South Coast and gives visitors a real sense of what’s waiting here.⁠

Follow the smell of freshly made chocolate and you’ll land here. A Ridgeville staple packed with rich, handmade treats, and the kind of nostalgic charm that makes you want to stay awhile.⁠
