This past week, my friends and I took our kids to a waterpark/hotel for the night. There were 7 kids between us. We were outnumbered, which seemed to be the case for most families there...
While we were having dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel we saw a family send their 3 daughters to the washroom as a group so one of them could use the toilet while they settled up the bill.
The three girls returned absolutely distraught... 2 of the older girls practically carrying the youngest.
She explained (in vivid detail that I will spare here) that she was assaulted in the women's washroom by a fully grown man. The 2 girls that she was with started hitting him and screaming until he ran away.
He didn't run far. He went back to finish his beer at the hotel bar. The girls identified him rather quickly and he put his hood up and continued to drink his beer.
I think he really felt like no one would believe 3 girls.
Except. Everyone believed them without hesitation. Every dad in the building immediately started looking for the man she described. Every available male server started searching the hotel for him.
When the oldest girl pointed him out at the bar, every available dad blocked an exit point so he couldn't leave (not that he tried until the cops showed up anyway).
The man's name and age was released by the niagara regional police. His name is Adam Carroll, 38 years old, and yes, he has a criminal record prior to this incident.
The trauma that these girls endured is unthinkable, but I can't believe how well the situation was handled from the parents, to the girls who fought to protect that little girl, to the emergency responders, and every adult who took action and BELIEVED them in this moment.
So this is a reminder to never let your guard down, believe your children, and teach your children to trust their gut.
The world is a scary place, but not talking about it isn't making it any safer. Please share your children's safety tips in the comments.

add to cart 🛒 this price is mind-blowing. I've been eyeing this device for a few months.
Micro current technology is super trendy in the skincare industry right now! You've probably seen microcurrent devices everywhere. All the influencers use them to "sn**ch" their faces, and all the skincare experts use them for their immediate effects but also the long-term delivery of their serums.
Here's how to use them:
♡ cleanse
♡ tone
♡ BOOST SYSTEM
♡ retinol
♡ hydrate
♡ sleep 💤
Hyuralonic acid will increase the effectiveness of your retinol, and if you have sensitive skin, it will also help to decrease the common side effects of retinol (which isn't really an issue if you use the peptide retinol I recommend, but in case you're still using another retinol, try this tip)

🚨SOS🚨 after 4 freaking years of trying I STILL don't get notifications from this page.
It's so insanely frustrating for not only me, but you as well!! If you've commented or messaged me on here and I don't answer it's because I'm literally NOT BEING NOTIFIED 😭 - please feel free to add my personal account Caitlin Haubrok or follow me on Instagram - I really wanted this page to work this time.... but meta is being a giant pain in the butt!
I will be having a skincare launch party, I'm just trying to decide if I should do a Facebook group, an instagram close friends group, or take it off of a meta app all together!
If you have thoughts or feelings about where I should have this party please comment (I'm setting an alarm to remind me to check the comments tonight before bed) or add me and DM me on my personal page.
I really do love and appreciate every single one of you and not responding to you does NOT make you feel that way, so please get in touch with me in the other ways mentioned above if you can!! xoxo
🍷 cheers 🍸

here's the thing about getting older - your kids get older, too. They don't need you as much, they certainly don't want to hang out with you as often and if you don't have a solid marriage, one that you prioritized even in the busy season, that can be really lonely.
Which is exactly where I found myself. Surrounded by people that I live with, cleaning up after them, cooking for them, and thinking for them.... but feeling so lonely.
until I had enough and something had to give. I talked to my therapist, Jay talked to his therapist, together we committed to reading a book by Sue Johnson called Hold Me Tight and we prioritized our communication and finally started viewing the problem as the problem and working together to solve it.
If you're going through something similar, not enough can be said for getting individual therapy- BOTH OF YOU- but also working together with the guidance of a book, a program, or even couples therapy on top of your individual therapy.
This shift was quick. Super quick. Within a month, we have come lightyears in our communication and problem solving.
I'm sharing this because I wish when I logged into social media I could see the real lives of the people that I look up to, the couples that I envy, I wish I could see that we are in a completely normal and expected phase of our life and that it isn't so taboo to reach out for therapy when faced with a new chapter of your life.
