The Con Man

Tonight's story comes from a birthday party I did this weekend. About 1/3 of the way through, I notice that the birthday boy is crying in his mom's arms. I find out rather quickly that some of his party attendees were saying that 'magic isn't real' and this is what brought the young fellow to tears.

This happened just as I was about to start my rope routine - it is without arrogance that I can safely say I am quite adept with rope, so I assured the fellow that "This would be pure, real magic, and there is no way it could be anything else. If you'll come back and sit in the middle, you'll see how real it is! Even they will have to admit it!"

Well, the critics were silenced, the eyes were dried, and at the end of the show, he came up to to me and said:

"Thank you so much! Next year, I'm inviting you to my party. Like, not to do magic stuff, but just come 'cause I want you here."

Ok ok, I know I said Wednesday, but I'm *way too excited* and want to share this! Nanaimo has it's own recurring magic show! The good folks - Brett and Cy - at Boston Pizza Nanaimo have further teamed up with The Con Man to start Wednesday Night Wonders! On the second Wednesday of each month, BP will host a full family magic show in their upstairs seating area!
