Biggest and brightest news buzzing around the studio this week is that our short film RETOUR À HAIRY HILL made its world debut at part of the Canadian Competition.

We are pleased to share with you that the film was Awarded a significant recognition: THE GUY-L. COTÉ GRAND PRIZE for BEST ANIMATED FILM !!

Guy-L Coté PhD (1925 - 1994) was a Canadian filmmaker at the He was also founding president of the Canadian Federation of Film Societies, and co-founder of the prestigious and the Montreal World Film Festival. In other words, Guy-L had FABULOUS taste. ✨

As we reflect and celebrate, the true meaning of this award has begun to resonate. Animated filmmaking, especially auteur independent cinema, is not an easy hill to climb. Our hairy one was no exception.

The film is a showcase of commitment — to a vision, to a craft, to a community, to a collective, to a universal story needing to be shared.

We are thankful for the support that the project has received over the many years of its making .sodec .community

We continue to be WOW’d by the talents involved in the creation process. Seeing it all come together on the cinema screen with surround sound made all the difficult “making of” moments dissipate. We can’t wait to watch it again.
