Hi everyone, thinking it might be insightful to explain a little bit more about bearing/supporting walls framing. Luckily I shot this video in 2021 for a project on a triplex where we opened the kitchen and living room for all the 3 floors. Yes, we also had to reinforce the supporting posts in the basement too. :-)
Exterior doors or windows installations sometimes require cutting the concrete walls while not weakening the overall structure. A lintel installation is necessary depending on the width of the opening and the charge above to support.

How to determine a wall is bearing/supporting or not? It requires a thorough understanding and analysis of the directions of the joists and beams for all the floors involved. We do every month bearing wall framing work as our customers ask for the widening of their kitchen space along with the living room given a wide-open modern look to their house. We are extremely looking forward to seeing the smiles of our customers once the job is done.
