The Janazah (funeral) prayer for our beloved brother Abdul Latif Sallaj will be held tomorrow, Sunday, June 28, after Dhuhr prayer, at approximately 1:30 PM, at:

Following the Janazah prayer, our beloved brother will be laid to rest at the:

We kindly encourage all community members to attend, make du'a for our brother, and support his family during this difficult time.

May Allah ﷻ forgive him, have mercy upon him, expand his grave, grant him Jannat al-Firdaws, and grant patience and strength to his family and loved ones. Ameen.

ندعو جميع أفراد المجتمع إلى الحضور، والدعاء للفقيد بالرحمة والمغفرة، ومواساة أسرته في هذا المصاب الجلل.

نسأل الله سبحانه وتعالى أن يغفر له ويرحمه، ويوسع مدخله، ويجعل قبره روضةً من رياض الجنة، ويسكنه الفردوس الأعلى، وأن يلهم أهله وذويه الصبر والسلوان. آمين.

بقلوبٍ مؤمنةٍ بقضاء الله وقدره، تلقينا نبأ وفاة أخينا العزيز عبد اللطيف سلاج رحمه الله، الذي انتقل إلى رحمة الله تعالى اليوم.
كان الفقيد من رواد العمل الإسلامي في مونكتون، حيث ساهم في بناء أول مسجد في المدينة، وكان مؤسس المقبرة الإسلامية في مونكتون. وستظل إنجازاته وأعماله الخيّرة صدقةً جاريةً وأثرًا طيبًا ينتفع به المسلمون لأجيال قادمة بإذن الله.
باسم جمعية مسلمي مونكتون، نتقدم بأحر التعازي وصادق المواساة إلى أسرته الكريمة، وأقاربه، وإلى جميع أفراد مجتمعنا المسلم. نسأل الله تعالى أن يغفر له ويرحمه، ويتقبل أعماله، ويجعل ما قدمه في ميزان حسناته، ويسكنه الفردوس الأعلى، ويلهم أهله وذويه الصبر والسلوان.

Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved brother, Abdul Latif Sallaj, who returned to Allah today.
Brother Abdul Latif Sallaj was one of the pioneers of the Muslim community in Moncton. He played a key role in building the first mosque in the city and was the founder of the Islamic cemetery in Moncton. His dedication and service have left a lasting legacy that will continue to benefit generations to come, in shaa Allah.
On behalf of the Moncton Muslim Association, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, and our entire Muslim community. We ask Allah ﷻ to forgive him, have mercy upon him, accept all of his good deeds, make his contributions a continuous charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), grant him the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus, and give patience and strength to his family and loved ones.

Funeral prayer and burial details will be shared with the community once they are confirmed, in shaa Allah.
May Allah reward him abundantly for everything he did for Islam and the Muslim community in Moncton.

📢 WE ARE HIRING – FEMALE SUMMER CAMP ASSISTANT

The Moncton Muslim Association (Moncton Masjid) is seeking a motivated and responsible Female Summer Camp Assistant to support our Islamic Summer Camp Program.

📅 Duration:
July 1 – July 30, 2026

⏰ Schedule:
Monday to Thursday
(No Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)

📍 Location:
Moncton Masjid
99 High Street, Moncton, NB

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during camp activities
• Assist with Quran and Islamic studies classes
• Help organize games, crafts, and educational activities
• Ensure a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment
• Support camp administration and daily operations

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is an asset
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
• Knowledge of Islamic values and practices
• Professional, respectful, and dependable

💰 Part-Time Position
Compensation will be discussed based on qualifications and experience.
