UV Light and Skin Damage:

UV light, especially UV-A rays, can pe*****te the skin and cause damage over time, leading to premature aging and an increased risk of skin cancer.

However, the amount of UV exposure from gel polish lamps is much less than the exposure one would get from direct sunlight or tanning beds. UV lamps used in gel nail curing emit relatively low doses of UV light, and the exposure time is typically brief—usually less than a few minutes per session.

Cancer Risk:

Skin Cancer: Some studies have raised concerns about the long-term use of UV nail lamps and the potential risk of developing skin cancer, specifically non-melanoma skin cancer, on the hands. However, the actual risk from occasional or even regular use of these lamps is considered low, based on current research.

UV Radiation Exposure: To minimize risk, experts recommend limiting exposure by wearing protective gloves with the fingertips cut off to shield the skin from direct UV light during the treatment, or using sunscreen on your hands before using the lamp 💅🏼
