On November 15, 2023, in Ottawa, the Government of Canada reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring that eligible newcomers receive the necessary support and services for successful integration into the Canadian economy and their new communities.

Yesterday, the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, initiated the national call for proposals for settlement and resettlement funding. This initiative aims to provide funding for numerous organizations offering essential services to newcomers across Canada (excluding Quebec) for a duration of five years.

This year's proposal emphasizes key areas within settlement and resettlement services. It includes investments supporting truth and reconciliation goals, establishing a Francophone integration pathway for French-speaking newcomers outside Quebec, and enhancing support for organizations serving racialized communities, 2SLGBTQI+, and other underrepresented groups.

Service provider organizations play a crucial role in welcoming newcomers, including refugees, in communities nationwide. They equip newcomers with the necessary tools, resources, and information, such as language training, job assistance, and connections with established immigrants, Canadians, and Indigenous Peoples. These services facilitate newcomers' integration and success in Canada, contributing to the creation of welcoming communities by supporting employers, schools, and other organizations.

For detailed information on eligibility and the application process for the call for proposals, please visit our website. The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2024.
