🎉 Come see us at the Pitt Meadows Day Parade! 🎉

We’ll be out celebrating with the community — and yes, we’ll be shaking our tin cans for donations to help support local families facing food insecurity. 🥫💚

Every dollar and every donation helps us continue providing food support to individuals, seniors, children, and working families across Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.

Be sure to wave hello, cheer us on, and if you’re able, help fill our cans with support for the community! Together, we can make a real difference. 👋

🚨 MOST NEEDED ITEMS THIS WEEK 🚨
As demand continues to rise across our community, these are the items we currently need most at the food bank:

🥚 Eggs
🥩 Meat (all selections)
🥬 Fresh Produce
🧈 Butter & Margarine
🥛 Milk
🍞 Bread
🍎 Healthy Snacks
🧻 Hygiene Products

We are continuing to see more and more everyday working individuals and families accessing the food bank for support. Rising grocery costs, housing expenses, and financial pressures are affecting people from all walks of life — including those who are employed and never expected they would need assistance.

Your donations help ensure we can continue providing fresh and nutritious food to local families, seniors, children, and individuals throughout Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. ❤️

“Food insecurity” is no longer a hidden issue in British Columbia — it is becoming a daily reality for families, seniors, students, and working individuals across our communities.

Right now in BC:
• 1.3 million people are experiencing food insecurity.
• More than 113,000 individuals accessed a food bank in a single month.
• Food bank usage has increased 44% since before the pandemic.
• Nearly 1 in 3 food bank clients are children.
• More working families than ever before are needing food support just to get by.

At Friends In Need Food Bank, we witness this reality firsthand every week. The faces accessing support are changing. Food insecurity no longer looks the way many people expect it to. It could be your coworker, your neighbor, a senior on a fixed income, or a parent trying their best to provide for their children.

This is more than a statistic. This is a growing community crisis.

Now more than ever, support matters. 💜
