Your initial thought is look at the fun those two old guys are having. Well your partially right we are having the time of our life. But what’s going through my mind is “ I am about to enter the lions den and get eaten alive “. And he’s thinking “ your entering the lions den and I am going to eat you alive”.

Adults, you want to start (try) Jiu jitsu but you are very concerned about safety and injury. You’ve heard that lots of guys get injured and your not into it. Or, you have an injury you don’t want to get worse. You may want to try our program. Here’s why:

1. We train in a “safety conscious environment”. Eg. letting up on a submission vs. Locking it in.
2. Curriculum based teaching. This allows beginners to learn in an appropriate manner, always based on safety.
3. Higher belts look after lower belts. No finishing submissions. Catch and release philosophy.
4. Students are taught the mechanics of submissions. Knowing the potential damage that could occur so they can apply then safely and the receiver can tap early.
5. Our motto on the wall is. “Leave your ego at the door.”
6. Regular classes are for fitness, learning and fun. Remember everyone wants to go to work the next day.
7. There are advanced and competitive classes designed for students who want to train harder and compete.
8. We are one of the only schools in the community that offer 90 minute vs 60 minute classes.

While Jiu jitsu is a combat art it can definitely be taught and learnt in a safe environment. Injuries can occur but that is equal to every sport.
If you would like to give Jiu jitsu a try. Give us a call and come attend a class to see if it works for you. Respectfully call Karen at 604-460-0046
