A Meaningful Life Therapeutic Recreation

Had a wonderful morning with my client yesterday. I wanted to take her somewhere indoors that was air conditioned and to get some exercise into our session. The smoke here in BC has been awful and the air quality has been very poor.

I decided to take her to Blenz for a coffee and treat. We reminisced and she told me all about the things she was up to during her 40's raising kids on the prairies.

We then headed to Michael's craft store to window shop and get ideas for things we can make with all the wool she has at home. 🧶 She used to knit over 100 scarves per fall to be sent out to children all over the world. 🧣We walked around feeling the different fibres and textures and also enjoying all the fall and Halloween decor. 🍂🎃👻

It is such an honor for me to spend my days with such a beautiful person. I often forget I am with an 83 year old woman. We have become great friends and I love my time with her no matter what we are up to. 💖

My children are so blessed to be able to have met and spend time with some of their great grandparents.

My grandparents have played such an important role in my life and thankfully both of my grandmother's still do. There may be thousands of miles between us, but they are part of my daily life and we speak on the phone several times per week.

My grandmothers have both lived lives filled with great amounts of love, strength, perseverance, challenges, adventures, victories and success. I am so inspired by each of them. They continue to remain independent and healthy. They have both been my sounding boards throughout my life. They've been a huge part of creating and operating my business. They give me insight and encouragement. I so wish they lived close by so I could help them and take care of them to return the favor.
