Every body at Fitlab is a work in progress, including the ones that look like they’re not.

show up consistently,
be coached properly,
and actually change her lifestyle.

If you want real results, real structure, and someone who will hold you to a higher standard…

I can name a lot of reasons why I’m so proud of this man, but this right here is one of the biggest.

This is the second time has had the opportunity to welcome high school students from École Beaurivage, from Saint Agapit, as part of their cultural exploration curriculum.

Each year, Darbar takes this opportunity not only to introduce students to Punjabi heritage and culture, but also to make sure they leave with a more open mind and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

I encourage you to listen to what had to say to them.

“ You probably like matcha and Pilates. “

Wrong girl.

But also… not the insult you think it is.

There’s nothing wrong with being that girl. Movement is movement. Pilates is incredible for control, mobility, and core strength. Matcha? We love a little sip sip.

But if your goal is body recomposition, real strength, and results that actually last…you need to build muscle.

Muscle isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s your:

– Metabolic engine (burns more calories at rest)
– Support system for joints (reduces injury risk)
– Protection for bone density (especially important for women as we age)
– Regulator for blood sugar and hormones

It’s what gives you shape, strength, and sustainability.

Cardio burns calories.
Muscle changes your body.

So no, I’m not just doing Pilates and sipping matcha.
I’m lifting. I’m building. I’m investing in a body that holds me long-term.

I don’t take this lightly.

The fact that I get to build a business, speak on panels and take up space as a woman, especially in a male-dominated industry, is not lost on me.

Because while I’m doing this, there are policies like Bill 21 that continue to regulate how women can show up in public spaces. There are ongoing global conflicts where women and children are disproportionately affected. There are still entire systems where access to education, financial independence and autonomy is not guaranteed.

And even here, in spaces that claim to be progressive, the gap is still real. Women receive a fraction of venture capital funding. Representation is still selective. And for many women, especially those navigating race, religion, or cultural expectations, the barriers aren’t just professional, they’re structural.

So yes, this industry is hard.
But I’m also very aware that my reality, despite its challenges, is still a privilege.

I get to choose this path. I get to build something. I get to be heard. And that’s not the case for everyone.
Which is why gratitude, for me, isn’t passive.

It comes with a responsibility to question systems. To create spaces that don’t replicate the same exclusions. To open doors while I’m walking through them.

I don’t fully know what that looks like yet. I don’t have a perfectly mapped-out plan.

But I do know that I don’t want to build something that only works for me. I want it to reach further than that.

There’s something to be said about a women-led athletic brand that actually considers different physiques instead of just following trends.

Been wearing since 2021, and it still delivers.

Motivation comes and goes; it’s inconsistent by nature. Discipline is what carries you through the days you don’t feel like showing up, when your mind is somewhere else, or when it would be easier to skip. Those are the moments that actually build something. Over time, it stops feeling like a task you have to convince yourself to do and simply becomes part of how you live. It becomes something you show up for, no matter what kind of day you’re having.

Today we trained courage.

Paulina has a fear of falling when she sits down.

Before we even pressed record, we had a long conversation about why. About how she places her feet too far forward.
How she loads pressure into her knees instead of her hips.
How that compensation makes her feel unstable which then reinforces her fear.

This is what fitness actually is.

It’s not just building muscle.
It’s not just chasing a 6 pack.
It’s not just growing your glutes (even though we love a good glute day).

It’s teaching your body how to use its joints the way they were designed to move.
It’s learning how to distribute load properly.
It’s rebuilding trust between your brain and your body.

At 25, training should be about prevention.
At 45, it might be about resilience.
At 78, it can be about reclaiming independence.

Today was about sitting down without fear.
About using her hips instead of jamming into her knees.
About using strength as safety.

Fitness changes depending on the season of life you’re in.
But it is never just about aesthetics.

Watching a 78 year old woman confront fear head-on?
That’s stronger than any PR.

I’m proud of my physique.

Not in a dramatic way. Just in a grounded, quiet way.

I’ve had phases where I didn’t fuel my body properly. Phases where I overtrained. Phases where I stared at it and only saw what needed to change. I focused on what it wasn’t doing instead of what it has done for me and continues to do for me.

I’ve criticized it more than I’ve thanked it.

But something shifted recently.

I KNOW I can achieve my “dream body.” I understand how to train for it, how to eat for it, how to stay consistent. That confidence comes from experience.

What matters more though, is that I’ve learned how to take care of my body without being at war with it.

I don’t rush it.
I don’t punish it.
I don’t spiral over every small change.

I train it. I fuel it. I respect it.

And regardless of the phase I’m in, whether it’s building, maintaining, leaning out, or just living, I can appreciate it.

That feels like real growth.

Your health isn’t something you “get to later.”
It’s something you decide to prioritize even when life is busy, messy and far from perfect.

Strength isn’t built in big dramatic moments.
It’s built quietly, consistently and in choosing long-term growth over quick fixes.

No extremes.
No gimmicks.
Just real work that pays off.
