Landscape Design Fanshawe College

Our 3rd year students in Professor Eli Paddle's design studio course fared very well in this year's Environmental Design Contest. This year's subject for the 11th annual contest, tasked students with the design of a Dementia Village in one of 4 potential sites in Southwestern Ontario. Entries were received from undergraduate and graduate programs from across Canada and Europe providing an excellent barometer against which to measure the strength of our program. Our landscape diploma students took 3 of the 4 awards in the competition: 1st place Ann-Marie Chung's "Forest Haven" ($2000), 3rd place Terri Watson, Rebeca Pinho Louzada, Melanie Goodwin's "Reflections at Westminster" ($1000), People's Choice Award Alex Mikelsons, Lisa Dinardo, Imraan Fallahi, Jacob Heil's "Willowmere at Westminster" ($1000). Congratulations to all those who won awards (including the group from McGill's Master's of Planning degree who took second place) and the other ten teams who made it to the presentation round including one other group from the same 3rd year landscape design class!!
