First Steps Theatre

Introducing Shriyanshi Quanoongo as our next cast member from 'Disdained'.

Shriyanshi is an emerging actor mainly in the field of stage, theatre, and drama. She is a high school artist, singer and performer pursuing her studies mainly in Drama & Theatre.

For the past 3 to 4 years, she has actively participated in many theatre events both in and outside of school. Whether it be online or in-person, she is always looking for different opportunities to improve her acting skills. She is a consistent learner and during recent years she worked with many Theatre productions polishing her performing skills. This time with First Step Theatre, she got a chance to be a part of their upcoming production “Disdained” and is super excited for this project.

Shriyanshi will be playing the role of 'Shweta' in 'Disdained'.

Shweta is caring and kind. She is prudish, but with certain desperation to break free. Trapped in a toxic cycle with her parents, and somehow traps Mutthu in that toxicity. She feels guilty and scared.

Introducing our first cast member - Guru.

Guru is from the 'City of Dreams' aka Mumbai. He is an actor and poet, and was closely associated with Prithvi Theatre and few theatre groups in Mumbai. He has been a part of various plays, street plays, poetry sessions and theatre festivals like Thespo.

Hindi Shorts in 2018 with SAWITRI Theatre group was his Canadian stage debut as an actor. And since then, he has been a part of various plays and productions of Sawitri Theatre Group, The Hive Theatre, Mehar Canada and Satrang Theatre Fest which were all staged in GTA.

Acting, poetry, travel and food feed his soul and he keeps sharing about these on Instagram .

Guru will be playing the role of 'Shekar'.

Shekar is good hearted, kind but meek. Being a q***r man in India has traumatized him, and he wears his heart up his sleeves. The peacemaker in the group. If two of his friends fight, they probably would ask him to referee the match. Fair and objective.
