📖 • On This Day in Perkins Diary

On Sunday, June 25th, 1810, Simeon Perkins writes in his diary the following…

"Mr. Newton preaches foreNoon [sic], Mr. Barry Reads a Sermon afternoon a prayer meeting half past Six. Mr. Pernette who Married John Newtons Daughter Mary came to Town ... they attend Meeting at the Chapel & Call at our House after Meeting."

✝️ • Simeon was a devout Christian throughout his life. He was of the Methodist denomination, but attended sermons delivered by preachers from various backgrounds. Simeon passed away on the 9th of May 1812 at the age of 77. He was buried in the Methodist Burial Ground (Zion United Church Graveyard) in Liverpool, N.S.
