Wherever you are in the world: mark your calendars! 🌍

MILES FOR EDUCATION
August 15 – September 12, 2026

The Lake2Lake event that many of us have loved here in Canada has been reimagined, with an even bigger vision and a global community behind it. Now evolving into "Miles for Education", it brings people around the world together to take on a physical challenge that raises funds and awareness, helping children thrive through education!

From August 15 to September 12, whether you choose to cycle, walk, run, hike, swim, or enjoy another physical activity, every mile you complete and every dollar you raise will help create learning environments where children in Rwanda can develop the character, intellect, and social-emotional wellbeing they need to reach their full potential.

Are you ready to complete that exercise you've been postponing, or to take on a fun and meaningful summer challenge as a family or with a group of friends? Let's get active, track our progress, invite friends and family to support our journeys, and celebrate our collective impact together!

Check out this personal invitation from one of our Miles for Education (and formerly Lake2Lake) Champions, Jake, and visit www.wellspring.ngo/miles to register as an individual or a team! πŸŽ‰

During a recent school visit in Rwanda, Philip (one of our Canadian team members) had the wonderful opportunity to engage in a dynamic student wellbeing session in one of our partner schools.

What Philip observed right away was how interactive, practical, and creative these sessions were, and how this vibrant, fun, engaging environment was sparking creativity among the students themselves. Not only are these young people developing a sense of belonging alongside vital life skills that will shape the trajectory of their futures; they're also using their talents to share this learning with their peers.

β€œMany things changed in my life as a result of what I learned in student wellbeing sessions, especially through the session on managing conflicts with restorative practices. I decided to use what I learned to help my parents resolve their conflicts.”

16 year old Ngabo* often felt overwhelmed by his challenging family situation, and struggled to concentrate in school, revise his lessons, or even sleep well. It was when he had the opportunity to attend social emotional learning sessions at school that he began to find the courage to help his family move forward. Using the tools he was building, Ngabo proactively guided his parents towards a healthier approach to conflict that is now impacting both their family life and his own ability to thrive.

Learn more about Ngabo, and partner with us to see thousands more students equipped with the courage and character they need to build a brighter future: wellspring.ngo/2026-spring/
