The Pipeline Costing Billions
Canada faces a pipeline that is not made of steel. It is the child welfare to prison pipeline. It is costing taxpayers billions.
In our work, both inside correctional centres and here in the community, we have heard the same story again and again. Most inmates either grew up without a father or were apprehended and placed into foster care.
One young man told us that moving through group homes and foster placements felt like a โtraining groundโ for prison. He said it prepared him for incarceration instead of preparing him for life.
This is not healing. This is not justice. This is a system training boys for failure when what they need is guidance, mentorship, and hope.
It is time to break the pipeline.

Honored and Proud: Cumberland House Expansion
We are honored and proud to announce the successful completion of our 10 day training program, marking the expansion of our second branch in the Cumberland House community.
As part of this collaboration, Men of the North has gifted the community a grandfather traditional powwow drum. This drum will serve as a sacred tool for healing, connection, and ceremony.
We thank our partners, the Victoria Memorial Health Centre and the Cumberland House Prevention Department, for their strong partnership and commitment to this vision.
The drum will be kept by Terry John and his family. Anyone wishing to learn or practice may contact Terry John at the Victoria Memorial Health Centre.
This milestone is more than an expansion. It is a commitment to menโs wellness, culture, and unity.

MOTN - Cumberland House Community Workshop
๐
Tonight, September 24
โฐ 6:00 PM โ 8:30 PM
๐ Victoria Laliberte Memorial Health Centre
We are hosting our first in-community workshop tonight. This is an introduction to who we are at Men of the North (MOTN) and how we walk alongside men and families to support mental health and wellness.
Lead Facilitator: Terry John
For too long, men have been told not to talk about mental health, not to ask for help, and to carry struggles alone. MOTN is here to change that.
We believe no one should walk this path alone. We are here to support, listen, and build strength together.
Come join us tonight. Learn what MOTN is about. See where things are at. Find out how we can help.
You are not alone.
