Realtor Jen Ziegler - Re/max Solid Gold
It's rarely about the square footage.
People think they outgrow their homes because they need more space. Another bedroom. A bigger backyard. More storage.
And sometimes that's true.
But more often? It's something quieter than that.
It's that the kitchen used to feel like the heart of the home - and now everyone is moving through it too fast to notice. It's that the neighbourhood that made so much sense at 28 doesn't fit who you are at 38. It's that your family has changed, your routines have changed, your needs have changed - and the house just hasn't changed with you.
Outgrowing a home isn't about the walls closing in.
It's about you expanding beyond them.
And that's not something to be embarrassed about or rushed through. It's actually something worth pausing on. Because when you understand why you've outgrown it - not just that you have - you make a much better decision about what comes next.
If you've been feeling like your home doesn't quite fit anymore, I want you to know that feeling is valid. And it's worth talking through before you make any big moves.
My inbox is always open. No pressure. Just an honest conversation about where you are and where you want to be.
That's what I'm here for.

Today our family of six became a family of five.
Our Maui girl was the very best dog, and we had the privilege of loving her for almost 15 years.
In those early years of our marriage, it was just Maui, Ryan, and me. Ryan spent hours on his hands and knees training her when she was a puppy, and all that time, patience, and love shaped her into the incredible dog she became. She was gentle, loyal, intuitive, and honestly one of the best-behaved dogs around. The bond they shared was something really special to witness.
Maui was there for every chapter. Every move, every milestone, every celebration, and every hard day. I always knew I was pregnant before anyone else because she would suddenly curl up beside me, determined to keep me safe. As the boys grew, she was right there beside them, always gentle and protective.
One of the things I’m learning as I get older is that life is made up of seasons. There are seasons of growth, joy, change, and eventually, letting go. We don’t get to keep the ones we love forever, but we do get the gift of loving them deeply while they’re here.
Maui’s chapter may have come to an end, but what a beautiful chapter it was. Fifteen years of loyalty, comfort, companionship, and unconditional love. We are better because she was ours.
A special thank you to my dear friend Hilary, who photographed Maui as a puppy and came back all these years later to capture these moments for us. What a full-circle gift. Thank you for walking alongside our family through so many seasons of life.
Our hearts are heavy today, but they are also incredibly full.
Thank you, Maui. ❤️🐾
You were everything to us.
You may have noticed the lake access first.
But the real showstopper of this home is the backyard.
2073 Maplewood Road is the kind of property that stops you mid-sentence. Sitting on 0.85 acres in the private Paradise Lake community, this custom built bungaloft doesn't just offer a home. It offers a whole way of living.
Mornings collecting eggs from the chicken coop. Afternoons on the lake - paddleboarding, kayaking, finshing, ust floating. Evenings on the covered porch watching the light change over a shared pond where fish and turtles move slowly beneath the surface while the rest of the world rushes by somewhere else entirely.
Inside, over 3,600 square feet of finished living space that feels as thoughtful as it looks. Rich hardwood floors. Oversized windows that pull the outside in. A chef's kitchen with JennAir appliances, custom cabinetry, and a walk-in pantry that makes you want to cook for a crowd. A main floor primary suite with a spa-inspired ensuite that feels like a hotel you never have to leave. A built-in office upstairs overlooking the lake. A 30x30 barn with endless possibility. A lower level with a separate entrance ready for whatever you need it to be.
Mature trees. Immaculate gardens. Extensive concrete work. Millwork and finishes that remind you what craftsmanship actually looks like.
And all of it - minutes to St. Jacobs Farmers' Market, Costco, Waterloo, and Kitchener.
This is the one people don't forget.
The difference between a house and a home is in the details.
And 58-383 Dundas Street East has them.
Upgraded pot lights throughout the main floor. Sleek black stainless steel appliances. An integrated dishwasher with a matching cabinet panel that disappears into the kitchen like it was always meant to be there. A smart stove. Select automatic blinds. Central vacuum rough-in. Ethernet wiring. Upgraded ensuite with a beautifully finished shower.
Nothing was left as an afterthought.
Built in 2022, this carpet-free townhouse was designed for the way people actually live - working from home, entertaining with ease, moving through your space without friction. Two bedrooms. Two full bathrooms. A powder room on the main floor. And a 435 sq ft private rooftop terrace with a gas BBQ hookup waiting for the first warm evening you want to make count.
For first-time buyers, young professionals, or anyone who's ready to stop compromising on the things that matter. This is for you, if you're looking for Home.

If my best friend told me she was waiting for the perfect time to buy, I wouldn't push her.
I'd sit with her for a minute first.
Because that feeling of waiting? It usually comes from a good place. She wants to get it right. She doesn't want to make a mistake. And that matters.
But here's what I'd tell her, honestly.
The perfect time isn't a moment you stumble into. It's a decision you make - when you have the right information, the right support, and someone who can help you see your situation clearly.
The market will always have reasons to wait. Rates. Inventory. Uncertainty. There will always be something.
But waiting is still a choice. And it has a cost too - even when it doesn't feel like it.
What actually changes things isn't a perfect market. It's getting clear. It's having a conversation that cuts through the noise and helps you figure out what the right move actually looks like for you.
You're not behind. You're not doing anything wrong. You just haven't had that conversation yet.
