Unlike traditional approaches that focus on resolving issues or reaching agreements, transformative mediation emphasizes shifting the quality of conflict interaction—encouraging personal growth, relational repair, and increased capacity for dialogue. Participants will learn to stay present in difficult conversations, support self-determination, and foster constructive engagement, even in high-conflict situations.

Ideal for community leaders, educators, justice practitioners, and anyone committed to healing-centered practices, this training includes:

• Fundamental frameworks of Restorative Justice
• Core frameworks of transformative mediation
• Skills-based practice in reflective listening and multi-partial
facilitation
• Role-plays based on real-life conflict scenarios
• Exploration of power dynamics, trauma, and cultural
context in mediation
• Guidance on applying these principles in community,
organizational, or justice settings

We Believe Survivors.

Today, on April 24, 2026, Justice Craig Parry found ex-Kitchener neurologist Jeffrey Sloka not guilty of 48 counts of sexual assault.

16 years have passed since initial instances of sexual harm were reported. Sloka was arrested and criminally charged almost 7 years ago. Through these years, those impacted by the Sloka case have been asked to live alongside an ongoing legal process—one that requires repeated revisiting of harm, prolonged uncertainty, and re-traumatization.

We hold care for all of the survivors directly impacted by Jeremy Sloka, as well as survivors who have been indirectly impacted, and for the community at large.

We recognize that legal outcomes do not determine the truth of people’s experiences, nor do they meet the full scope of harm caused.

We dream of a world where survivors of sexual harm are believed, held with care, and experience accountability that feels meaningful to them.

On refugee rights day and every day, we share our solidarity with those who are displaced, seeking asylum or are undocumented, as we work towards strengthening communities of safety and belonging.
