A new chapter is beginning at YWCA Kitchener-Waterloo. 💜

We’re proud to announce a new partnership with Domestic Violence Victim's Alliance - DVVA, Retail Therapy, a Kitchener thrift and resale organization that shares our commitment to supporting survivors of intimate partner violence.

Through this partnership, participants in our YESS (Youth Employment and Skills Strategy) program will continue to gain meaningful, hands-on employment experience in a safe, supportive and trauma-informed environment. Our Career Services team and program coordinators will continue this important work, now in collaboration with a trusted community partner.

As part of this transition, the YW Thrift Boutique will close to the public on August 13, 2026.

To every customer, donor, volunteer and community member who has supported the boutique over the years: thank you. Your support has helped build confidence, create opportunities and open doors for participants in our programs.

The storefront is closing, but our mission and the impact of this work continue.

We’re excited for what this partnership will make possible and grateful to have our community moving forward with us. 🫶
