With the progressive lifting of lockdown measures in Ontario, patients in select regions of the province are now able to access care and treatment from their OMPs. But our fight is not over. Now more than ever it is important that OMPs be considered essential care providers, especially if we move into another lockdown. HST announcement
This week we have been alerted by the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of Ontario of an update by Canada Revenue Agency in regard to GST/HST collection and Osteopathy. The government has decided that the HST exempt status of Osteopathic manual therapy in Canada will no longer be provided.

After consulting with their tax lawyer, the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners is advising its membership to begin collecting HST effective immediately. As such moving forward we will be charging 13% HST on our Osteopathic Manual Therapy services.

Please note that this will commence on October 1, 2020
