Hey Ang and Sarge...

I was at a large family gathering a few weeks ago, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of my aunt and uncle, my mother’s husband drank more than he should have. He was so loaded that he fell down the stairs, knocking over a plant that scratched a painting my aunt and uncle received as a wedding present all those years ago.
My cousin has informed me that the painting is going to cost several thousand dollars to repair. I think my mother’s husband should, at the very least, offer to pay for it. But I know my aunt and uncle won’t ask him.
Nobody seems to be upset by all of this. I am so embarrassed for him.
Should I talk to my mother about this?
