Ontario's home renovation savings program announced about a week ago. Actual details hit the pan today but with a disappointment . The $5000 towards solar is not for net metering, only for load displacement.

Basically this means you can't export excess energy and expect credits for it.

As designers this means we either size systems smaller so your output generally never exceeds your use during the day OR you have to have to buy energy storage as part of your system.

We'll put a blog post up about it later, still finding out some information. Stay tuned!

PS: the system picture below was generating 40 Watts at the time of the picture, which I think is pretty amazing!

We've been waiting for this, haven't seen price reductions here yet but sounds like they're coming? (Not promoting TESLA by the way!)
