Special delivery today from Toronto-based small publisher .bookshelf! 🥳 Thanks to funds donated during our June book drive, we were able to order 12 copies of this beautiful children’s book, My Garden Over Gaza — one for each Little Free Diverse Library. Thank you to Asmaa for the bulk discount and to those of you who make ordering books like this possible via donation. And thanks, too, to the wonderful for introducing me to .bookshelf a few years back. I’m always happy to support them with book orders. 🇵🇸🍉

Forty five books donated from the magically generous and kind , the loveliest human who follows along with what we do and always wants to pitch in. We have never even met IRL! She just casually DMed that she had some books for me and I found two bags on my porch filled with FORTY FIVE awesome books that I know she dug for in thrift shops. And a birthday card with a sweet message and coffee money in it! 🥹Emily, THANK YOU! 😇This brings our Pride Month total to 164 which has us past our goal of 130. 🥳 So grateful! Yay!

This perfect picture by deserves a spot on the grid! Thanks to for highlighting KW Little Free Diverse Libraries on their blog. I’m always happy to talk to folks about the neighbourhood matching grant that helped our project come to life. If you want to know more, reach out — I’m always happy to chat about my experience! Neighbourhood projects can be small or sweeping. The money is there to be taken advantage of — and it helps build community. And guys: we neeeeeeed community right now. As I recently told my teenager, who is overwhelmed by the state of the world these days (and who isn’t): we have got to think local. What can we do to make our communities better, safer for all, more loving and connected? Small and meaningful acts and projects are wonderful and they DO make a difference.

🥳🥳🥳 Little Free Diverse Library # 11 has arrived in her new home! 🥳🥳🥳

After three years in Belmont Village, this big beauty is settling into a new neighbourhood just a couple of kms away — at 132 Ahrens St. W. (corner of Wellington), the home of the fantabulous !

They’ve got a whole thing going on here — a beautiful new mural by and a new neighbour () comin’ in hot. Come by, donate/add or borrow books by Black, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQ+ or disabled authors, soak up the ☀️, eat treats, drink coffee and marvel at Brie’s mural! It’s a whole amazing Midtown vibe!

Huge thanks to Lenore at for being our new bookwormy steward and big ups to Susie and George at for putting so many hours and so much TLC into the library at the Belmont location. So grateful for community and collaboration and working together to make KW magical!

Our libraries thrive when everyone looks out for them and gives them love. Borrow and return books, add books, and help us w**d out what doesn’t belong. Let’s work together to make this big library a success in her new home! Thanks KW! 📚♥️
