Tuesday, June 16, 2026, was a remarkable evening for Our Livable Solutions (OLS) and Crossroads Village!
At 7:00 p.m., OLS alumni, volunteers, and Board Members found themselves in two places at once, united by a shared commitment to building a more compassionate community.
Led by Jan English, OLS alumni who experienced the Sleeping Cabin Pilot Project attended City Council to speak in support of extending the Crossroads Village deadline to July 31, 2027, and to request an opportunity for OLS to inspect the 17 cabins currently in storage. Their lived experiences helped demonstrate the importance and potential of this initiative.
At the same time, another group gathered at Crossroads United Church to support Shout Sister Choir's fundraising concert.
We are thrilled to celebrate success on both fronts!
A heartfelt thank you to City Council for believing in our vision for Crossroads Village and for recognizing the value of innovative housing solutions that create dignity, safety, and belonging.
We also extend our deepest gratitude to our steadfast allies - Shout Sister Choir - whose talents, generosity, and community spirits helped raise an astounding $9,447 in support of our work. Donations continue to arrive, so the impact of this remarkable evening is still growing.
These achievements remind us that meaningful change happens when people come together with hope, compassion, and determination. Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke out, sang, volunteered, donated, and believed in what is possible.
One day, Crossroads Village will welcome residents home. When that day comes, it will be because the Kingston community came together and raised their voices at City Hall, lifted their voices in song, opened their hearts, and chose to be part of the solution.
The future of Crossroads Village is brighter because of you.

Today was Friday fun day for our friends, made possible by Gnome for a home. We were unable to choose between freezies and chocolate bars to complement this fantastic treat from . We chose chocolate bars, paired with meal replacement drinks. Our friends would like to acknowledge Lylia's outstanding kindness.
