Today is the last day of Brain Injury Awareness Month.

But, for survivors of intimate partner violence-caused brain injury (IPV-BI), the challenges they face don’t end with the flip of a calendar page. And neither does our work.

Because awareness of brain injury from intimate partner violence is just the beginning.

At SOAR, we’ll keep working to

📚Explore the intersection of brain injury and intimate partner violence through research.
🧰Educate members of the public and frontline teams through training and workshops
💜Empower survivors to get the supports they deserve through advocacy and systems change.

Survivors of IPV-BI need recognition, support, informed care, and systems that understand the challenges they face, all year long.

And you can help!

Today marks the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day. It's a time to celebrate and honour First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples, their cultures, knowledge, resilience, and communities.

At SOAR, we remain committed to listening, learning, and working in partnership with Indigenous communities across Canada, guided by the principle of “Nothing About Us Without Us.” We’re grateful to the Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and partners who continue to guide this work.

Today and every day, we honour the original stewards of the lands.
