As of March 1, 2026, the new National Pharmacare Plan (Plan NP) is now active in British Columbia — making essential medications more accessible than ever 💙

✅ Who is eligible?
All B.C. residents enrolled in MSP are automatically covered.
➡️ No application required
➡️ Coverage is processed directly at the pharmacy through PharmaNet

💊 What is NOW 100% Covered?

Plan NP provides full (first-dollar) coverage for:

✔️ Select Diabetes Medications
✔️ Insulin (now price-regulated)
✔️ Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT)
✔️ Contraceptives

This means:
👉 No deductibles
👉 No co-pays
👉 No dispensing fees for covered medications 

Pharmacies cannot charge for the drug OR the dispensing service when it is fully covered.

⚠️ Important Details

• Some diabetes medications may still require Special Authority
➜ Once approved → they are fully covered 

• MHT and contraceptives do NOT require Special Authority 

• Some drugs may be partially covered under the Low Cost Alternative (LCA) policy
➜ Choosing a fully covered option avoids extra cost
