We had a great weekend tagging calves and managing our herd! I will never grow tired of caring for these historic animals 🦬🦬

Earlier this spring, one of our calves was orphaned at only 2 weeks old. He refused to take a bottle and tubing him with lambs milk was going no where. We needed a solution and FAST! As luck should have it, a random conversation with a friend revealed she owned a few dairy cows. Thankfully she didnt run away when we asked her if we could try putting our bison calf on her jersey cow ("Nelly"). By the grace of God, it worked! Our calf was saved thanks to a jersey cow and a kind-hearted friend. After a successful weaning and slow re-introduction to his old herd, this dire situation ended with the best possible outcome. Thank you Sarah Tutt and the Tutt family for saving our handsome bison calf! We couldn't of done it without you (and Nelly)! 💛🦬🐄💛
