It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Griffin, a beloved retired member of our Mounted Patrol Unit.

Griffin, a 20-year-old Percheron cross gelding, was purchased in 2010 and proudly served with the unit from its inception. Over the course of 15 years, he played a steady and reliable role in our operations before retiring in 2025.

He will be deeply missed by all who worked alongside and cared for him. Rest in peace, Griffin.

A full-circle moment.

On his final shift, Deputy Hamilton hit the road one last time—this time alongside his son. A career built on service, commitment, and community comes to a close, while the legacy continues in the next generation.

Thank you for your years of dedication. Enjoy the next chapter.
