Congratulations to artist Lester Coloma on receiving a Creator Award during the 2025 Hamilton Arts Awards! 🎉🎉🎉

The Creator Awards recognize living artists or artistic collectives working in any artistic discipline and at any career level. A minimum of eight Creator Awards are conferred each year to recognize artistic excellence and/or innovation that contributes to artistic growth in the city, progresses the artform and expresses the cultural vitality and diversity of Hamilton’s art scene.

In advance of Gord Bond’s upcoming exhibition, “The Mess Makers and Their Associates” opening Thursday July 10, we had the pleasure of visiting the artist in his Hamilton studio. In addition to speaking about his newest body of work, Bond also shared the origin story of his practice.
