Halifax Police Search for Suspect After Alleged Racially Motivated Costco Assault

Halifax Regional Police are investigating an alleged assault at the Costco on Chain Lake Drive that occurred around 1 p.m. Saturday. Investigators say a man yelled racially offensive language at a family before allegedly assaulting another customer while continuing to shout. The investigation has been assigned to the hate crime unit. Police describe the suspect as a bald white man between 30 and 40 years old who was wearing a black T-shirt, jeans, and black boots. THREE TEENS ARRESTED AFTER CANADIAN TIRE BB GUN THEFT SPREE IN HALIFAX

Halifax Regional Police say three suspects were involved in two Canadian Tire incidents on consecutive days. On Friday afternoon, two males and a female allegedly broke into a locked display case at the Chain Lake Drive location and stole multiple BB guns before fleeing on foot.

The following day, police responded to another incident at the Lamont Terrace Canadian Tire in Dartmouth, where the same trio allegedly attempted to break into another BB gun display. Police say the attempt failed, but a female suspect allegedly sprayed an employee with a sensory irritant while leaving the store. Officers arrested all three suspects at the scene, and a police dog later located the suspected irritant canister.

Investigators say evidence linked the suspects to both incidents. An 18-year-old man, a 16-year-old boy, and a 14-year-old girl are now facing a variety of charges that include robbery, disguise with intent, weapons offences, theft, possession of stolen property, and several youth-related breach offences.
