It's Canada Ag's Day! Today we celebrate our farmers and farming ... the passion to bring food to our tables and the incredible contributions of agriculture to our nation’s prosperity, health, and well-being.
Here, close to home, our farming sector is generations deep with leaders and mentors investing in the future of agriculture - our young people. Proud of and who help young people across the province develop leadership skills, pursue their passions and contribute meaningfully to the future of their communities and our province.
The future of agriculture is in good hands 🍀

Thank you for sharing the ROOTED story Halifax Convention Centre! Your partnership helping celebrate our farmers, deliver an outstanding locally-sourced culinary experience and building extraordinary guest memories is an investment in Nova Scotia's agriculture future!
ROOTED's sixth and final course, on its culinary journey through Nova Scotia farm country, celebrated our egg farmers. We learned about the freshness of local eggs and how 4-H has brought farming families together. Scrumptious desserts made from local eggs are the best and created a beautiful Gala plate. Many thanks to Krista from Oulton Farms and 4-H member Evan for taking us on tour - it was lots of fun!

The fifth course, in our culinary journey at ROOTED, took us to Sunnycroft Farms in Milford to meet the McDonald family and learn about Nova Scotia's dairy farmers and the essential work they do to feed and nourish us. Janette and Maddison had lots of fun too 🐄!

The 4-H tradition is ROOTED; generations of families have been impacted by the 4-H experience. In our next video, we celebrated beef and wild blueberry producers in Nova Scotia and had a chat with Brian from Thunderbrook Farms . And, the two plates served at the ROOTED Gala were delectable 😋

Each ROOTED Gala course celebrated a different sector in Nova Scotia's diverse agriculture industry. In this video, Kings County 4-H member Amiah chatted with Jordan from Webster Farms Ltd. and visited Randsland Farms Inc. and TapRoot Farms. Looking back, ROOTED was an extraordinary evening. It was a time to celebrate our farmers and enjoy a culinary experience like no other. We also took time to learn from our farmers and highlight their work on our plates. We Celebrated Our Farmers, One Plate at a Time two weeks ago at the ROOTED Gala in the Halifax Convention Centre. And, what a time it was 🤠 So, so many supporters to thank in the coming days but, for now, a few photo memories of bringing a little of the country to the city and all stepping out in our best denim!
