Practicing my physical inking with dip pen (an old G-pen with an even older "free pen holder" rom maybe... 20 years+ ago?

I've been working on pages like this for my portfolio. No real story attached (yet), just trying to practice and exhibit different specific skills (mark making, line control, background treatments, different media like coloured pencils or pastels). I have had so many tiny projects that I havent been able to chew on any writing or larger projects in a while.

My wife often hears me say "once I get all this current stuff off my plate, I'll have time for some of my own work..." Ive been saying this for maybe a decade!?

Had a very fun opportunity this month to make a comic page for ‘s Spring issue! This was a speedy project but the team was great to work with and I’m really glad to see the final result in print.

No scanner right now, but here’s a poorly cropped snap. I penciled and inked this the other day to test out some papers and pens I picked up, but then got way too into it and went overboard. Anyway, looking forward to working on a short 6p comic for an upcoming project next year.
