We will not tolerate hate.

As Pride Month has come to a close, we’ll be taking down the Pride flag from our reception area. But we want our community to know that our commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive space doesn’t end on July 1.

Everyone is welcome at our hospital. We are committed to treating every client, patient, and team member with kindness, respect, and compassion.

Sadly, for the second year in a row, we’ve had reminders of why Pride Month and visible signs of inclusion still matter. Last year, someone commented that our flag made them ‘uncomfortable’. This year, it appears that someone intentionally ripped our flag down onto the floor.

We know these actions don’t reflect the values of the vast majority of our clients. Our community is overwhelmingly kind, supportive, and accepting, and we’re grateful for that every day.

These experiences have also reinforced our commitment to inclusion. We are ordering a permanent pride flag decal we’ll be displaying in our front window, year round.

Pride Month may be over, but our message remains the same: everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and welcome when they walk through our doors. That will always be who we are. ❤️
