Intuitive Birthing
09/12/2023
Your partner is an important person in your journey but their fears should not be yours and shouldn't be the deciding factor in your birth choices.
Your partner should trust in your intuition.
Your partner should trust in your connection with your baby and body.
Your partner should be doing his own work to relearn birth.
Your partner shouldn't be shaming you, second guessing you, or denying you the experience you deserve and so innately desire.

Pregnancy is a transformative experience and journey that only a woman will experience fully and deeply. She should be the driver of her experience and everyone and their fears should take the back seat. It is not a woman's responsibility to make others comfortable with what she wants, rather it's her responsibility to seek out and find the team that will support her.
Don't let anyone else be in control of your experience.

Breathe
Read that again.
Close your eyes and really take it in.
Because, this is the truth.
Birth has existed since the beginning of time...
✨We would not all be here if it wasn't for birth in its most natural form.
✨We would not all be here if it wasn't for the power of the woman's trust and her body.
The truth is, women and babies weren't dying at homebirths 150 years ago, this narrative was marketed that way by men in white coats who needed more clients to make more $$!
You must focus on what it is that you are looking for from your birth. Then narrow down which support team works best for you.
In a system where you are treated like a number, misunderstood, disrespected, treated so poorly that can result in negative outcomes.
Or you can birth outside the system where you are in control and the dominate voice.
You are the leader.
You are the authority.
And those that are privileged enough to witness and stand by your side will respect, love and understand the desires that you have.
When you are in the driver's seat; everything shifts.

A physiologic birth takes as long as it takes!
I had long labors. They are daunting and have you questioning your ability to go on, but you always can. A physiologic birth will not fail you. There are periods of rest. Your body will not fail, it won't give up halfway through and you will be able to push out your baby!
The idea that long labors are dangerous is one created by a system that is designed to profit from your birth. Think about that when your midwife or OB are scaring you that you've been in labor for a long time. It's a variation of normal.
Women and babies are not machines or robots and don't work on deadlines.
