This Canada Day, I'm incredibly grateful to be both a proud Albertan and a proud Canadian. And while Alberta has legitimate grievances within Confederation, I believe Alberta's best future is leading, not leaving.

That's why, on October 19, I'll be voting to stay.

On Thursday, Premier Smith announced a referendum asking Albertans if our province should remain in Canada or begin the legal process required to hold a binding referendum with that question.

I am a proud Albertan who believes deeply in our province, our people and Alberta's place in a strong and united Canada. While I share in many of the grievances we have as a province, I believe Alberta's future is stronger in Canada than outside of it. A strong, united Alberta within confederation will defend our prosperity.

Let's lead, not leave.
